Housing Development



Mountain CAP of WV, Inc., a CDC creates affordable housing for its clients in two ways:


  1. We build single-family houses that are sold to low- to moderate-income households.  Applicants must qualify with household income not above 80% of the Area Media Income (AMI), with a good credit score (approximately 640 or higher), and with the approval of a primary mortgage loan.  Mountain CAP may provide a subsidy through a zero-interest, forgivable 2nd loan of up to $40,000 to help make the mortgage loan affordable.

  2. We build multi-family rental housing that provides low rent to households with income not above 60% of the Area Median Income.  Eligibility is based on income level, criminal background checks, credit history, and references.
